"A poet can survive everything but a misprint."
Hi, my name is Paul Gentile. I am an illustration major who focuses his skills on narrative storytelling and character design. I also enjoy combining original graphic art with typography for the purposes of T-shirt and card design. I’ve completed two internships with Classroom Antics and Great Lakes Publishing and look forward to further utilizing my skills in the professional field.
For Classroom Antics I designed advertisements that went for print or were distributed online. I also designed a T-shirt for use in the company’s summer camp. The main focus of my internship was to modify the company’s aesthetic to promote its mission to provide STEM education to children of all ethnicities genders.
With my time at Great Lakes publishing I preflighted, modified, and reformated PDF’s for print, and created online flipbooks of various publications that went for print as magazines. I also designed advertisements that were printed in such publications as Ohio Magazine.
Though my heart lies in illustration, I’ve tried to learn many skills and gain experience in various disciplines and software as I feel that I’ve often had to combine them in laying out typography or formatting pages for character creation, graphic novels, or children’s books.
